Panther Boys Finish Successful Season
Pekin Basketball Has Second Straight 20 Win Year

The Pekin Boys' Basketball Team came up just short in its bid to win the District title and advance to the substate game, losing to Central Lee 55-51 on Tuesday. Pekin battled back from an early deficit, tied the game 37-37 after three quarters, and had a 48-43 lead midway through the fourth quarter. The Panthers could not hold on, though, and went down in defeat despite a tremendous defensive effort.
Trey Sathoff led Pekin in scoring with 16 while Cody Millikin and Brady Lamb were also double figures scorers at 14 and 13 respectively. Trenton Northup added 6 and Dalton Stone 2. Millikin was the rebounding leader with 13. Sathoff had 8, Lamb 6, Stone 4, Northup 3, and Derek Robison 1 board. Lamb was the assist leader with 3 while Northup and Millikin had 2. Lamb and Millikin each also had two steals.
Season stats are summarized below. The Pekin Boys' and Girls' Basketball Teams and cheerleaders will have their annual banquet March 10 at 6:30 P.M. All friends and families are invited. It will be a potluck, and families are asked to bring two dishes. Post-season honors and a season recap will be shared at the banquet.
