Student Assistance Team

The Student Assistance Team at Pekin is for addressing educational concerns of its students. The SAT coordinator is Tom Stone and the team is made up of several teachers. The SAT will meet weekly to discuss student issues and to decide what course of actions are needed to address student issues. The SAT will review student’s grades, attendance and discipline records. The team will hold a parenting meeting with the student to develop an action plan to help whichever area the student is struggling in at school. Students are referred to the SAT team by either a teacher referral or from a parent requesting a meeting. Parents are encouraged to monitored their student’s grades and contact the teacher if they see a problem with their grades. Parents wanting access to their child grades need to contact Dustin Coleman at dustin.coleman@gpaea.k12.ia.us to get a password and username for Power Schools.
