Promethean Boards
August 26, 2009
Over 30 teachers attended training on the new Promethean Boards
installed in the school. The district installed 15 Promethean
Boards during its first phase of upgrading its classrooms.
Interactive whiteboards engage students with vivid images, video
and audio. Promethean ActivBoards enable anything that can be seen
or done on a computer screen to be projected onto an interactive
whiteboard – bringing every classroom to life.
The district also purchased several ActivSlate 50s. The slates
enable users to move around the room to teach, controlling the
lesson from anywhere in the classroom – making any learning
environment versatile. Teachers can move about and connect with
students, and everyone can gather and participate. It is also
enables students to fully interact without moving from their
seats.
There will be several ActiVote sets for the Promethean Boards.
ActiVote empowers students to take an active role in their own
learning and enables educators to connect with an entire class,
while teaching based on the needs of individuals. Students are
asked a question via ActiVote and watch as the classroom comes
alive with participation. Students click to respond and answers are
instantly viewed, shared and analyzed on the interactive whiteboard
in easy to understand formats such as bar graphs and pie
charts.
