Box Top News
by Janice Dix, Pekin Box Top Coordinator
So far this year our school has collected $820.10 worth of General Mills Box Tops. The grocery stores are given a certificate to share with a school district of their choice. It is worth about $262 for the school. We have graciously received one of these!
Otherwise, the school gets $0.10 per box top collected. We have been using the money for our school library to be able to purchase books for the students to read. One of the math data team’s smart goal focuses on the students mastering facts. It was suggested that we use decks of cards as an activity to practice the facts in a game like situation so some of the money will be used for this also.
We could not possibly do any of this without your help. Keep collecting those General Mills Box Tops on products like Trix, Yoplait, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Land O Lakes, or any of the other 480 products. For a complete list of products feel free to visit

Again, thank you for your support with this project. You can send your box tops with students, teachers, or feel free to put them in the mail to Pekin Schools, c/o Janice Dix, 1062 Birch Ave, Packwood, Iowa 52580.
