2nd Grade News

We are now entering the 4th Quarter of school.

Students have been working hard on their Iowa Assessment Tests.

We thank parents for having them present and on time each morning.

In Reading, 2nd graders continue to work in small groups, whole reading

groups, one-on-one, and with peers.  It has been fun watching their

progress in reading more accurately and fluently.  The kids have come

a long way on writing good, complete sentences that make sense.

In Math, children are working on addition, subtraction, telling time,

counting money, writing numbers, story problems, base-10, measuring,

and graphs.  They are able to work on computers and i-pads to help

them learn.

In Science and Social Studies, students have been studying plants,

animals,  habitats, economics, resources, societies, groups, and cause/

effect.  We look forward to going outdoors, as the weather gets nicer,

to do some outdoor classroom learning.

As school comes to an end, remember to have your child read, write,

add, and subtract this summer.  It will definitely benefit them for

3rd grade.

As you can see, 2nd graders put in very busy days!!!
