May News from Mrs. Buch for Elementary P.E.
To conclude the year in physical education we are finishing our fitness testing, practicing for the track meet/field day and enjoying playing games out in the sunshine. The track meet will consist of running, jumping, and throwing events that all students are able to participate in. The track meet is a fun way to end the year in physical education because it gets everyone involved in an activity and they also love competing against each other and having fun while they are doing it. The 2nd -5th grade students will also be participating in Jump Rope for Heart while they work on raising money for the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association is a non-profit organization that fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke. The Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser is held to put forth effort into helping with heart research. The students will also be challenging themselves and others to choose to drink water instead of sugary drinks, be physically active for 60 minutes a day, and eat a fruit or veggie with every meal.
