1st Grade News

The First Graders had their first Come Read With Me Day on October 20.  Each student got the chance to invite a special guest to spend the afternoon seeing what first grade is all about.

We started the afternoon by having the students perform Reader’s Theaters for the guests.  The students worked hard to make sure they could read their scripts accurately and fluently.  They all did a great job performing!

The rest of the afternoon was spent doing literacy centers.  Students and guest were able to work together on writing, reading, and word activities.  It was fun to see the first graders so excited to share their day with their guest.

We are looking forward to our next Come Read With Me Day on Friday, December 15.  We will be sending home an RSVP slip closer to that date.

Thanks for all the special guests that were able to spend the afternoon with us.
