All Iowa School Districts are to notify parents annually on the following notices. These notices are also available at the Pekin Community School District office.
The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986 requires that the District notify parents annually concerning asbestos-containing building materials in the school building that their child attends, and that the management plan for that building is available for their review.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords parents and students over 18 years of age certain rights with respect to access and confidentiality of student educational records.

Section 9528 of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires schools to release family's private information to military recrutiers unless we opt-out in writing. The following form provides the option to remove your child's and/or family's name from the Military Recruitment list.
No Child Left Behind: Teacher Qualifications
Parent/Guardians in the Pekin Community School District have teh right to learn about the following regarding their child's teacher's qualifications: state Licensure status, special endorsements for grade level/subject area taught and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree. Parents/Guardians may request this information from the Central Administration Office by calling 319-695-3039 or sending a letter of request to the Central Office at, 1062 Birch Avenue, Packwood, IA 52580.
