Secondary Principal

The Pekin Community School District is seeking a properly licensed and highly motivated instructional leader to serve as the Secondary Principal for grades 7-12. Pekin Junior-Senior High School serves approximately 300 students with 25 licensed staff that is experienced and supportive. The district is a PLC district using GRR as one of its instructional strategies.

We desire to fill this position for the 2018-2019 school year. Must be certified as Iowa Administrator License and Evaluator Approval or the confirmed ability to secure.  Salary will commensurate with experience and benefit package.

The successful candidate will drive change and ensure success in building and sustaining a positive academic culture. The principal will be responsible for ensuring that all students have the tools they need to be academically successful and that all members of the community (students, teachers, and parents) have high expectations for student conduct and student achievement.

Substitute Bus Drivers

Pekin Community Schools has openings for substitute school bus drivers for the 2017-2018 school year. Candidates must have a CDL (class B) with school bus and passenger endorsements and a clean driving record.

Substitute Teachers

The Pekin Community School District is looking for Substitute Teachers for 2017-2018 school year for all teaching positions. Applicants must hold either of these licenses: Iowa teaching license, an Iowa substitute teaching license, or an Iowa substitute authorization certification.

Substitute teachers will be called to work on a day-to-day basis when contracted teachers are unable to work, on-call basis.
