Junior High School Announcements -

Late bus @5:20.

The first Warning list will be out on Monday.  Check your grades on PowerSchool.

Parents, please be sure to update your information in PowerSchool.  That is what we use to contact you by email, snail mail, or phone.  

Remember, everyone must have their laptops charged everyday and ready to go.  Keep your charger in your laptop bag.

Everyone must have their ID at lunch.  If you don’t have it, you will be asked to step aside until everyone has gone through.  A new card is $5.  Remember, if you owe lunch money, you may not get seconds or extra milk.

Lunch today: Bar B Q rib patty, baked beans, baby carrots, applesauce, grapes.

Lunch tomorrow:  Chicken quesadilla, green beans, peas, pineapple, slush pouch, and cookie.

  1. Today is an A Day.

  1. Congratulations to the 2021 Prom Court:  Sophie Wittrock, Alex Babcock, Erika Coleman, Chloe Conger, Taylor Parmenter, Michael Jones, Brayden Sobaski, Cael Lyle, Mason Juhl and Cael Baker.

  1. Prom Court will meet briefly after 3rd hour today, with Ms. Goudy in the hallway by the central office, for a group picture.

  1. We are still in need of Junior parents to sign up to help park cars during the Promenade from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  We are needing approximately 7 more people to help.  If we don’t get others to sign up, It is going to take much longer and delay the start of other activities.  The kids enjoy doing the Promenade so help us to continue this by volunteering.

  1. Corsages and Boots are available to order for Prom.  Corsages are $15 and Boots at $5.  You will need to help make your own.  If interested, please contact Mr. Lamb by Tuesday.

  1. Masks will be optional at Prom and the community will be allowed to view decorations from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

  1. The deadline to sign up for Prom tables is TODAY.

  1. Prom tickets need to be purchased by TODAY.

  1. Prom picture packets are available in the high school office.

  1. Guest Registration forms for Prom need to be turned in by TUESDAY.

  1. The city of Richland is looking for someone to help with the school stop sign in Richland on Tuesday mornings and putting it away after busses unload every night.  You can earn community service hours for doing this.  If interested contact Chirsty in the Office or Rhonda Noel.

  1. HS Girls Track at Clear Creek Amana today starting at 4:30 p.m.  Runners will be dismissed at 1:50 p.m.  ONLY four spectators per athlete.  Masks and social distancing are required.

  1. Trap Shoot at Ottumwa Izaak Walton League on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

  1. There will be a Spanish Club meeting next Tuesday during dens in Ms. Coffin's room.

  1. The Juniors and Seniors would like to invite you to join them on Saturday, April 17th at 6 p.m. for their prom grand march.  Students will enter through the main south doors on the High School.  We ask that guests line both sides of the sidewalk in the grass and stay off the parking lot.  Bleachers will also be provided for guests.  We are asking that guests enter through the driveway by the daycare (known as the exit driveway) as students will be entering through the main driveway of the parking lot.  If you could please park down past the bus barn by the entry into the track/football field so that our student’s cars may be parked close to the building.  The gym will be open to view the decorations on Saturday, April 17th from 5:30-7:30 p.m.


  1. The following wrestlers need to turn in their wrestling singlets ASAP: 

Blake Juhl and Mason Juhl.

  1. We will be offering the ASVAB test on Tuesday, April 27th at 8:30 a.m.  This is open to all high school students and is free to take.  Please click on the link below to sign up.  https://forms.gle/QsWLBAugsmCk3a2AA  The deadline for sign-up is April 20th.

  1. The new Study Sync materials are now on display in the High School Office for public comment from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. until May 8th.  If you are interested in viewing them, stop in.

  1. The Baccalaureate Service will be held on May 12 at 7:30 pm in the High School Gym. This invitation is for ALL 2021 graduating seniors from Pekin High School.  They are looking for seniors that would like to speak about their faith journey.  If you are interested in speaking, please let Christy know in the high school office.

  1. Everyone is still required to wear a mask in the classrooms and the offices.  The only exceptions are Lunch & PE. 

  1. Please contact the Jefferson County Public Health Department if you are 18 years or older and interested in receiving the Covid-19 vaccination. 641-472-5929
