Elementary Art Update
The art room has been welcoming fall with new ways of exploring mediums and teaching the Elements of Art! We began the year with learning the art room expectations and rules to make a safe and exciting place to explore in creativity. We learned all about color theory and how to make new colors while also learning how colors work together. Students made sunflower color wheels to show their learning at the end of the unit and they all turned out fantastic! Lower elementary students kicked off the fall season with Calico corn paintings in lieu of harvesting time. Upper elementary students designed a virtual quilt pattern using computer science skills and made a class wall quilt in the end. Soon, students will begin to explore the basics of drawing with texture, form, shape, line, and more. Each element will get its own mini project to show student learning and create more masterpieces along the way. Many wonderful things are happening in the art room and I hope you are excited to watch the student creativity flow!
