Up-To-Date Activities Spectator Policy - November 17, 2020

From the Desk of:

Brent Blakely

Pekin Community School District

Activities Director

After receiving updated directives regarding our Extra Curricular Activities from Governor Reynolds, I would like to share Pekin CSD most up to-date spectator policies. It is important that you comply with the below stated policies. If a spectator can not follow the below written policies they will be asked to leave. This policy is effective immediately until otherwise stated. If you have any questions, please contact Pekin CSD Activities Director Brent Blakely.

JH & Youth Activities-

All JH activities are suspended from camps, practice, and contests until December 10. More information will come as we approach that timeline and more guidance is given. Youth programs/activities are not permitted until December 10. (Examples: EMAP, Basketball Camps, etc.)

All spectators are required to wear a mask upon entry of the school building and in the gym. This includes all schools we travel to as well.

Spectator Limits-

Each athlete will be issued two passes per event. The athlete is free to distribute these passes however they see fit. The athlete is responsible for keeping track of their passes. Pass holders will be expected to sign in under the name of their designated spectators upon entry. A pass holder will still be expected to pay admission to each event similar to normal circumstances.  Activity passes are still accepted and will need to be presented at the admission table with the event pass. A spectator cannot attend with just a Pekin Activities Pass as event passes are REQUIRED..  Admission prices will be $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for students.  These passes will be used at all conference events. You will NOT be permitted to an event at any other school without this pass. A lost or stolen pass should be reported to the Activities Director immediately.

Each game is considered a “separate event” by the state. Following each game, spectators will clear the gym. The next game’s spectators will not be allowed to enter the gym until it has been cleared by the previous game’s attendance. Example: Spectators that attend the Varsity girls game will be cleared of the gym so spectators for the boys game may enter the gym. In the event you have an athlete (child) participating in both games you will not need to leave the gym.

Seating will be limited. Spectators will not be permitted to sit in areas that are marked off areas. In addition, spectators will be required to maintain six feet of distance between themselves and other household units. The determination of what constitutes a household unit will be determined by those in the unit. All spectators will be expected to clear the gym after each contest.

Concessions will be determined by each school district independently. Pekin schools plans to have a modified concession at this time. This could change in the future.

Live Streaming-

Pekin Schools will attempt to live stream every home event on Pekin Community Schools Facebook Page. Please check Pekin CSD Facebook page for an event being live streamed. https://www.facebook.com/Pekinschool
