NEW NEWS:

  1. Today is an A  Day.

  2. Late Bus @5:45.

  3. Students are no longer allowed to go out to their cars during the day.  Please make sure you are bringing everything in with you in the morning including PE clothes, chargers, lunch, etc.

  4. Congratulations to the JH boys CC team.  They placed 1st overall and Mason Dahlstrom placed 1st.  Mr. Eidahl said he was 400 yds ahead of the pack!  JH girls placed 3rd overall and Chloe Glosser placed 3rd.

  5. The theme for Pekin’s 2021 homecoming is Carnival on the Boardwalk. More details about homecoming will be released shortly.

  6. URGENT: Homecoming shirts are now available for order and purchase. They will be $15.99 and each grade in the secondary building will have a colored shirt unique to their class. ORDERS ARE DUE TODAY to Christy in the main office. 

  7. MAP tests will be conducted in math and literacy classes 9/20 through 9/24 for all 7th through 11th grade students (seniors are not tested). Please bring a charged Chromebook with you to school every day next week. It might be a good idea to bring your charger.

  8. Pekin Sports Boosters is currently selling Pekin apparel online.  Here is the link to order:  https://anywearmp.com/collections/pekin-sports-boosters.  The online clothing store closes tomorrow, 9/23.

  9. There will be a Spanish Club meeting during dens today in Ms. Coffin's room for all members who have paid their dues.

  10. Juniors - reminder that bracelet orders and money are due to Ms. Goudy this Friday, September 24th.

  11. TEAL will have their first meeting during lunch tomorrow in Mrs. Wittrock's room. Please grab your lunch and join us. Anyone is welcome. TEAL is a sexual assault survivor student group. If you have questions regarding this student group, please contact Mrs. Wittrock. 

  12. JH Volleyball here with Highland on Thursday starting at 4:30 p.m.

  13. HS Volleyball at Waco tomorrow night for the conference tournament.  Pekin will be playing Notre Dame around 5 p.m.  They will play three games following that.

REMINDERS:

  1. A reminder to ALL students...you MUST sign in and out at the office if you are late or leaving early during the day.  The office must have written permission or a phone call from the parent or guardian or the student will not be allowed to leave.  Students need to talk to Christy before checking out.

  2. Calling all students and coaches to join us on Tuesday, September 21st for the relaunching of Pekin’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).  Pekin FCA will meet every Tuesday in Mr. Eidahl’s room during the lunch hour (12:40 -1:05).  Find us on Facebook @PekinPanthersFCA.  If you have questions, please contact Phil Parsons at phil@bordwellparsons.com or 319-480-6058.

  3. Just a reminder...please do not park in the reserved parking spots in the middle rows of the parking lot.  Not all of the spots are painted but they are still reserved.  There are 18 spots in  the front row that are reserved.  Check in the Main office if you have any questions.

  4. The Pekin Boosters Association is looking for members! The Boosters are planning some exciting things for this school year. If you are interested in joining the Boosters, membership forms are available in the junior high and high school offices, on the Pekin Boosters Facebook page and available during volleyball and football games. If you have questions about the Boosters Association, please email pekin.boosters@pekincsd.org.

  5. HS Volleyball is now selling Pekin Jackets.  Two jackets are on display in the HS office.  They are non sport specific and will have Pekin Panthers and the logo on the front corner of the chest.  Choose red or black,  hooded, zip front and water resistant.  There is a sign up sheet in the HS office.  If you have any questions, please contact Rusty Crabtree at 641-233-8435 or rusty.crabtree@pekincsd.org.
