We are beginning the circulation process for the bond petition, and we could use your help to gather signatures. Petitions can be picked up at the district office or emailed. Please let Dave Harper know if you want a petition.
Here are the key points:
You may collect signatures from family members or others in the community.
You are welcome to drop off petition sheets and flyers at local banks or other appropriate locations.
Flyers are available for pickup at the district office.
Please return the initial petition signature sheets to the district office by July 9th.
The district will have a meeting on June 29th at 5 PM in the media center for those interested in helping gather signatures
This bond has the potential to make a significant positive impact on our district by improving learning environments, strengthening safety and security, and ensuring our facilities meet the needs of students for years to come. Your help in moving this process forward truly matters.

I wanted to provide a quick update following the straight‑line winds that moved through Pekin today. Bottom line: everyone is safe.
We did experience damage to several areas on campus, including the weight room, baseball dugout, greenhouses, and a number of fences and trees. Our insurance company is already working to get an adjuster on site to assess everything.
The Elementary and High School buildings did not sustain major damage.
We will be organizing a clean‑up day soon for students who would like to earn community service hours. More details will follow in the next day or two. Thank you to all that have reached out to offer help.

Pekin Community,
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I wanted to let you know that over the coming weeks, the Pekin Community School District will begin circulating a petition related to proposed facility improvement projects across the district.
These projects focus on priorities identified through facility assessments, staff input, community feedback, and Board discussions, including safety and security improvements, HVAC upgrades, updated learning spaces, and long-term infrastructure needs.
Signing the petition does not approve the project—it simply allows the proposal to move forward for community consideration and a public vote.
We encourage everyone to review the attached information and learn more about the proposed improvements, funding plan, and anticipated tax impact.
Thank you for your continued support of Pekin students, staff, and facilities. Additional information will be shared as the process moves forward. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to me at 641-919-2202 or dave.harper@pekincsd.org.
